Roadside erosion takes place in many different ways and Flexamat® offers a permanent solution. Flexamat® is utilized on both new highway construction as well as by maintenance departments for repairs. Flexamat® rolls are easily installed by highway and county personnel, using equipment they already have.

Using Flexamat® for erosion control along roadways improves safety. Safe shoulders are protected from becoming steep drop-offs dangerous to motorist, cyclist, and pedestrians. Unlike rock rip rap, Flexamat® may be safely driven across. Rocks cannot be thrown into traffic. Litter often collects in rip rap, and picking it up can be treacherous for highway personnel. Flexamat can be safely walked across, both by pedestrians and wildlife.

Highway mowing crews can safely mow over Flexamat® without fear of shooting a projectile into traffic or damaging their mowing equipment. Costly weed abatement programs are also not needed.
